INTEGRITY AND HONESTY

Do you want to be among those who celebrate men and women that excelled through the right way or those who got their way through dubious and dishonest means? Have you heard about the saying that “idle mind is the devil’s workshop”? If yes please read and enjoy this story as you allow INTEGRITY AND HONESTY be your guiding principle.

There was a town whose king realized he has no one to take over as his heir to his throne if he died, therefore he decide to adopt a child. In order for him to do that, he set up a competition for selection and 5 young boys made it to the next round of the competition.

The king said to them, I have one last test for you, whoever among you that come first will become the adopted son of mine and the heir to my throne.
He then handed each of them a corn seed to take home, plant and nurture it to grow with instruction of getting back to him with the plant in 3 weeks’ time.
The boys took the seed home and planted it, but after some days, one of the boys noticed that his planted seed did not grow and he was sad, he then decided to discussed it with his friends, after discussing with his friends about his worries, he was advised to buy another seed from the market to plant again, but the boy refuse because of his parent’s teaching about Honesty and Integrity.

At the expiration of 3 weeks they all return to the palace and 4 of the boys have their grown plants with them but the fifth boy went back to the palace without any plant. The King asked each of them to come forward with their result of the seed, “Do you have the result of the seed I gave you”? They answered “yes, your majesty”. But the King noticed that, the last boy was shaking in fear, then moved closer to him and asked, “What did you do with the seed I gave you”? The boy answered I planted and care for it, but your majesty, the seed did not grow.

“Hum!” said the king while taking a deep breathe, he took his sit holding the boy’s hand and said “I gave these boys boiled seeds and boiled seed cannot grow. If a King must have one quality, it must be Honesty, so therefore, it is this boy whose seed didn’t grow and he did not heed to his friend’s dishonest advised but decided to be honest, uphold his integrity and face the truth, that passes the king’s test and henceforth he should be recognized as my adapted son.

Did you see from my story how, honesty and integrity has paid! But nowadays, we live in a society where many don’t do anything for success; they lack the honesty and integrity to work hard and do the right thing, even when they are being given the opportunity to prosper, they tend to run faster than their shadows to get to the top through dishonest means.

Many lack the integrity to show that someone else can do better. Young men and women have the opportunity to correct the mistakes of the past and rewrite their history through honesty and integrity. Let’s come up with good ideas, develop businesses and make things happen the right way by being bold and seeking knowledge.

If you don’t know what business to do, you can start by consulting the business development experts for assistance and be honest with yourself when asking for help; don’t worry about having butterflies in your tummy or being nervous about it. 2. Environment: this does not replace what you offer; the role of the environment is to help your products or service in order to give a best description of where to locate your business it is not made to diminish it 3. Customers: In business when you come across a wrong customer you are in for trouble because you cannot afford to make a mistake. Don’t let go your products or services until you are sure of whom you are dealing with. This must be taken seriously because you are responsible for your business and must account for it.
